Space Desktop Surface Roadmap

Status

This roadmap sequences backend persistence for shell state and product surfaces. It is not a migration plan.

Now

• Document Hub, Surface, URL, Space, Desktop, and WindowSession doctrine.
• Keep existing runtime routes unchanged.
• Introduce Hub concepts in App Store and Pricing UI as static concepts.
• Prepare backend model docs.
• Identify the first backend partner role and AI support agents.

Next

• OS shell auth and session baseline.
• User, Organization, and Membership.
• Space, Desktop, Surface, and InstalledSurface.
• WindowSession persistence.
• First real loop: visitor, waitlist, activation code, and feedback.

Later

• Moments and personal data backend.
• Payment and entitlement after readiness.
• Marketplace listing.
• Hub subscriptions.
• Revenue split.
• AI agent runtime.
• Community spaces and developer publishing.

Boundary Rules

• Preserve /app-os/* runtime routes.
• Use metadata to connect runtime route, owner canonical path, and Store path.
• Keep WindowSession as UI memory, not canonical URL identity.
• Do not model every relationship as nested ownership.
• Treat marketplace, billing, and revenue split as later platform layers.
